Strawberry Wine

Because it's Saturday...

Because my niece is just about the cutest, sweetest little glow worm I have ever seen...

Because, the good Lord willing, tax refunds are about to roll in (or already have for you lucky ones)....

Because the weather is finally starting to show signs of spring...

Because I was fortunate enough to relocate a not so insubstantial check that fell out of my pocket at Home Depot this afternoon (hello most irresponsible person ever)...

Because it's turkey season and the men folk are absent...

Because it's New Beers Eve (I should have planned for today's drink a little better)...

Drink this...

Strawberry Wine
Serves: 4
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Ingredients:
1 bottle white wine (I used Coppola Chardonnay)
1 quart of strawberries
Simple Syrup (recipe here)
Fresh Basil or Mint for garnish

Directions:
Rinse strawberries and hull by removing cap and stem.  Place strawberries in a food processor, blender, or magic bullet (I used the bullet for easy clean up) and blend for about 30 seconds to one minute.  Add 4 tablespoons of simple syrup (or more for a sweeter drink) and stir.  Fill four wine glasses with 6 ounces of white wine.  Add 3-4 tablespoons of strawberry puree to each glass.  Serve garnished with fresh basil or mint.
