Heavy Lifting

For me, waking up at 5:00 a.m. is pure torture 99% of  the time.  I am not a morning person.  I never have been, and I never will be.  Lucky for me, today fell into the rare 1% of days where I woke up feeling that I got just enough sleep to feel refreshed.  Apparently, King hogged the bed also had a good night's sleep and was bright eyed and bushy tailed.  After getting up with Scott, he came back up stairs to make sure I was out of bed... twice.

Currently, Wednesdays are my "heavy lifting days".  Squats, dead lifts, and presses are all relegated  to Wednesday.  My work out looked like this:

1.  Warm up to 115 lbs:
                     Empty Bar (45lbs) x 5
                     65lbs x 5
                     85lbs x 5
                     105lbs x 5
2.  115 x 5 - 5 sets

1.  Warm up to 85 lbs:
                     Empty Bar (45lbs) x 5
                     65lbs x 5

2.  85lbs x 5 - 5 sets

Dead lifts:
1.  Warm up - 95 lbs
2.  First set - 115 lbs x 3
3.  Second set - 135lbs x 3
4.  Third set - 155 x 3
5.  Fourth set - 175 x 3 (personal record - woo hoo!)

At the end of the fourth set, I was finished.  Drained. Done.  I wrapped up the work out as usual, trying to stretch but ending up with this guy in my lap. 

He has no clue he is not a lap dog.  I don't have the heart to tell him otherwise.

I had to grab a quick snap of the sunrise before heading home to get ready for work.  It never gets old living in the inlet.
